TDM & Associates, an award winning executive search firm, has been retained to locate qualified candidates for a Production Planner. Our client is a top manufacturing facility located in Virginia.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Compile and prepare material requirement orders for inventory; issue requisitions for new and special materials, sub contracting of parts, etc.
Work to reduce operating inventory by employing stocking techniques such as Kanban, Backflushing, JIT, and lot size reduction.
Work with Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, Tool Room, etc., to coordinate schedules and timing for material and tooling procurement, tool conditioning, blueprints, design and construction of special tooling, etc., to avoid delays.
Lead and/or participate in daily planning and scheduling meetings with the Machine Loading Section to coordinate order release dates for manufacturing to obtain maximum utilization of machines and equipment, timing of subsequent operations such as assembly, shipping, etc.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline. 3-5 years experience in advanced production planning and scheduling required. SAP and APICS certification preferred. Master Scheduling knowledge and LEAN Manufacturing preferred. Must come from a high speed manufacturing facility.
